Multifamily houses and rental turnover

A lot of Blackstone's housing is two- and three-family buildings from the textile era, many of them owner-occupied with a tenant upstairs. That means shared hallways, carpeted back stairs and apartments that turn over between tenants. Landlords often book us between leases to refresh bedrooms and hall runners, and tenants book us before move-out to deal with the high-traffic path from the door to the kitchen.
